BURN BAN June 30, 2021 Island County, WA <IslandCounty@public.govdelivery.com>Fri, Jun 25, 9:00 AM (2 days ago) OUTDOOR BURN BAN IN ISLAND COUNTY TYPE I BURN BAN IN EFFECT AS OF 12:00 Noon, June 30, 2021 NO OUTDOOR BURNING OF NATURAL DEBRIS – EVEN WITH A PERMIT. RECREATIONAL FIRES ARE ALLOWED IN APPROVED FIRE PIT* This restriction bans outdoor burning, except for recreational fires. Recreational fires are less than three feet in diameter and two feet high and are for cooking and pleasure only. Recreational fires must be contained within a fire pit that has been cleared of all combustible material within a 10-foot radius, must be monitored at all times, and must have a water source readily available (at a minimum, a charged water hose or a five-gallon bucket of water). *The use of barbeque grills using propane or briquettes, or self-contained camp stoves are also allowed PROCLAMATION and PUBLIC NOTICE WHEREAS, by June 30, 2021, atmospheric conditions of reduced moisture levels, low humidity, and warmer weather have increased the risk of fire within the confines of Island County, THEREFORE, in concurrence with the Fire Protection Districts of Whidbey and Camano Islands and the Northwest Clean Air Agency, I, Sheriff Rick Felici, serving as the Island County Fire Marshal, do hereby proclaim a BAN on ALL outdoor burning (except for recreational fires) within the entirety of Island County REPORT VIOLATIONS TO 911https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0?ui=2&ik=da239ee197&view=lg&permmsgid=msg-f%3A1703555216989779171&ser=1 This Ban will remain in effect until further notice.
